Research

At the moment, MOVE is primarily focused on two core projects: a polycentric knee prosthesis, NextStep, and a myoelectric hand prosthesis, Cacao. Our teams are currently developing the first functional prototypes.

While part of the team focuses on designing and refining 3D models and mechanical systems, others are developing the electronics and signal-processing algorithms required to measure and interpret subtle muscle signals for intuitive prosthetic control.

In parallel, we are exploring a modular architecture for the hand prosthesis. By separating the prosthesis into interchangeable functional components, we aim to improve durability and water resistance while also enabling specialized attachments beyond the traditional hand design. This modular approach could significantly expand adaptability and functionality for different users, environments, and everyday tasks.
